Oiling
Oiling is needed to maintain the warm tones of the wood and not needed to protect
the furniture. In other words, it is needed to keep the furniture from weathering to
a soft gray color. Therefore, in order to maintain the color of the teak, it is only
required to oil approximately three times a year.
However, oiling requires multiple coats. By the third coat, the furniture will
have a matte finish without any shiny spots.
