TEAK IS DURABLE

With an average lifespan of 75 years, teak wood has long been acclaimed as the best choice for outdoor furnishings. This luxuriant hardwood is resistant to water, weather and warping, allowing it to withstand season after season of use with no need for winter storage. Because of its longevity, durability, and low maintenance, teak furniture is heralded as a symbol of luxury and affluence.

Pest free: One of the most commonly quoted facts about the characteristics of teak is its durability. It is resistant to rot caused by fungal decay, and the high level of resinous oil present in the timber helps to act as a natural insect repellent giving the timber very high resistance to attack by termites and other wood boring insects.

Resistant to water and many chemical reagents including acids making teak easy to clean, and maintaining the furniture’s radiant color even through time.

Saws, machines and planes easily without splitting the wood and it sands to a smooth tight surface. This adds to the flexibility of teak designs without compromising its quality.

Teakwood has a life expectancy of 75 years if left untreated due to its natural rubber content that naturally resists moisture.
